Canthigaster rostrata – 12 species of puffer occur in North America.

Identifiers: Dark border along a white to pale yellow gold tail. Blue lines radiate from the eyes. No pelvic fin.

Habitat: Western Atlantic from North Carolina to Florida and Gulf of Mexico and West Indies. Coral reefs and seagrass beds. Found around sea fans and stinging coral.

Average Lifespan: Up to 10 years

Size: Up to 3 3/4 inches (9.5 cm)

Food: Mainly shellfish. Omnivore
