Chub (Bermuda/Yellow)

Kyphosus sectatrix/incisor – Identifying between the two species is close to impossible underwater.

Identifiers: Gray to silver body with pale yellow stripes. Young have pale spots on body (see picture below)

Habitat: Near shore. Coral reefs and rocks. Western Atlantic from Massachusetts to Brazil.

Size: Up to 20 inches (51 cm)

Food: Herbivore. Mainly bottom-dwelling algae.
